What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, American Ninja Warrior is a sports competition based on the Japanese series, Sasuke. Matt Iseman, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila, and Kristine Leahy host the show, which follows competitors in series of obstacle courses in both city qualifying and city finals rounds. Contestants who complete the finals course in their area move on to the national finals round. In season nine, the show will visit Los Angeles, CA; San Antonio, TX; Daytona Beach, FL.; Kansas City, MO; Cleveland, OH; and Denver, CO, before heading to Las Vegas to take on the four-stage course that’s been modeled after the famed Mt. Midoriyama course in Japan. At stake is a grand prize of $1,000,000.
Season Nine Ratings
The ninth season of American Ninja Warrior averaged a 1.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.86 million viewers. Compared to season eight, that’s down by 18% and down by 7%, respectively. Find out how American Ninja Warrior stacks up against other NBC TV shows.
On March 6, 2018, NBC confirmed American Ninja Warrior is renewed for season 10, which will debut May 30, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
