Ready the pooper scooper. The American Vandal TV show has been cancelled after its second season on Netflix. Reportedly though, CBS Television Studios intends to shop a third season of the Funny or Die mockumentary and is already hearing from interested parties.

Netflix true crime satire, American Vandal stars Tyler Alvarez and Griffin Gluck as documentarians Peter Maldonado and Sam Ecklund, who return to investigate a new case involving a scatological scandal at an elite Catholic school. The season two cast also includes Travis Tope as Kevin, Taylor Dearden as Chloe, Melvin Gregg as DeMarcus, and DeRon Horton as Lou. Season one followed the case of a phallus-obsessed graffiti artist at Hanover High School.

Deadline reports:

Netflix has opted not to renew mockumentary comedy series American Vandal for a third season. I hear producing studio CBS TV Studios is fielding incoming interest in the Funny Or Die show from other potential buyers.

American Vandal will not return for a third season,” Netflix said in a statement. “We’re very grateful to the creators, writers, cast and crew for bringing their innovative comedy to Netflix, and to the fans and critics who embraced its unique and unconventional humor.”
