With internet viral videos all the rage, is season 27 of ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos TV show more relevant, or less? It’s common knowledge that the Nielsen ratings typically play a crucial role in determining whether a TV show like America’s Funniest Home Videos is cancelled or renewed for a 28th season. Unfortunately, most homes aren’t Nielsen households, and many viewers get upset that their viewing and opinions aren’t being counted. We’d like to offer you a chance to rate the episodes here.
A long-running reality TV show, now hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, America’s Funniest Home Videos features viewer-supplied footage of animal antics, klutzy kids, practical jokes, and cringe-worthy accidents. Prior hosts on the ABC TV series include Tom Bergeron, Bob Saget, John Fugelsang, and Daisy Fuentes. In each episode, the producers choose three videos for the audience to rank as the first, second, and third place winners, who receive prizes of $10,000, $3,000, and $2,000, respectively. Twice a year, the $10,000 winners return in hopes of winning a grand prize of $100,000.
