America’s Next Top Model: Fall 2012 Ratings

TV ratings for Americas Next Top ModelTyra Banks is going back to school with America’s Next Top Model: College Edition. Will this version bring in positive ratings or will it finally cause the TV show to be cancelled? The 18th season of America’s Next Top Model typically airs on Friday nights at 8pm on The CW network.

Here are the TV show’s ratings for the Fall 2012 season, the best way to tell if America’s Next Top Model is going to be cancelled or renewed for season 20.

Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.23 million total viewers.

0.2 in the demo (-67% change) with 0.71 million (-47% change).
Season averages: 0.48 in the demo with 1.23 million.

Episode 19-12: Friday, 11/16/12 (season finale)
0.6 in the demo (0% change) with 1.34 million (-5% change).
Season averages: 0.51 in the demo with 1.27 million.

Episode 19-11: Friday, 11/09/12
0.6 in the demo (+50% change) with 1.41 million (+12% change).
Season averages: 0.50 in the demo with 1.26 million.

Episode 19-10: Friday, 11/02/12
0.4 in the demo (0% change) with 1.26 million (+13% change).
Season averages: 0.49 in the demo with 1.25 million.

The fall premiere of ANTM was way down when compared to last fall’s edition (which was way down from the 2010 debut). This season started down, by 56% in the demo (vs a 0.9 rating) and down 44% in total viewers (vs 1.96 million). It’s worth noting that last season aired on Wednesday nights, evenings with more competition but also more potential viewers than on Fridays.


Reference point: The Fall 2011 season averaged a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.84 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
