HBO CONFIRMS DEBUT DATES FOR NEW SERIES ANGRY BOYS AND RETURNING SERIES THE LIFE AND TIMES OF TIM
NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2011 – HBO has announced the debut dates for the new Chris Lilley series ANGRY BOYS and the returning animated series THE LIFE AND TIMES OF TIM.
ANGRY BOYS kicks off its 12-episode season SUNDAY, JAN. 8 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), with two episodes airing back-to-back each Sunday night. This new comedy series comes from Chris Lilley, creator and star of the acclaimed series “Summer Heights High,” which debuted on HBO in 2008. Shot in mock documentary style, the show explores the lives, dreams and aspirations of males in present-day society, spotlighting six characters, all portrayed by Lilley, from a pair of 17-year-old twin boys in Australia to a 24-year-old Los Angeles-based rapper. The series has already received widespread praise in Australia, with the Guardian calling ANGRY BOYS “beautifully observed, extraordinarily executed” and describing Lilley as “jaw-dropping.” The Sydney Morning Herald acclaimed the show as “bold, aggressive, unafraid to trample on some very shaky ground.”
THE LIFE AND TIMES OF TIM returns for its ten-episode third season FRIDAY, DEC. 16 (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT). This animated comedy series about an average guy whose instincts repeatedly lead him down the wrong path was created by Steve Dildarian, who also executive produces and writes the show, and provides the voice of Tim.
The New York Post has called THE LIFE AND TIMES OF TIM “fantastically twisted, sublimely inappropriate, massively funny,” while the San Francisco Chronicle hailed it as “flat-out brilliant.” ANGRY BOYS was written and created by Chris Lilley; executive producers, Chris Lilley, Laura Waters and Debbie Lee (for the ABC); produced by Chris Lilley, Laura Waters; directed by Chris Lilley, Stuart McDonald, Jeffrey Walker.
THE LIFE AND TIMES OF TIM is produced for HBO by Media Rights Capital; created by Steve Dildarian; executive produced by Steve Dildarian, Tom Werner, Jimmy Miller, Mike Clements and Leynete Cariapa; co-executive produced by BJ Porter; consulting producers, Rob Cohen and Luke del Tredici; produced by Monica Mitchell; directed by Steve Dildarian.
