Arrow is going back to basics for season five. Stephen Amell and other members of the cast spoke about the upcoming season of the CW series at an event held over the weekend, and he gave fans a real big tease about the upcoming fifth season.
Not only will fans finally see flashbacks to Oliver’s time in Russia, but they will face a new villain that will bring things that happened back during season one back into focus. Amell said the following, according to TV Line:
“The villain that we are introducing is a direct result of things that Oliver has done in Star City [and] calls back to a lot of things that happened in the first season of the show. It really grounds the show and really focuses on its core value, which is the battle to save Star City. The first two episodes [of Season 5] refocuses us on what the core mission of the show should be, and that to me is very exciting.”
David Ramsey also teased “mayhem, death, love” for season five.
