Arrow: The Walking Dead Alum Joins CW’s Season Five Cast

Keeping its casting quiver full, The CW‘s Arrow  TV show has cast The Walking Dead TV  series alum, Chad L. Coleman, in the upcoming fifth season. Deadline reports Coleman, late of History‘s Roots  remake, will play Tobias Church, described as, “…an imposing gangster looking to unite the various criminal enterprises in Star City under his own singular command.”

According to the report, Madison McLaughlin (pictured below) is returning as Evelyn Sharp. She appeared in season four, episode 19, “Canary Cry,” and tried to assume the role of Black Canary, in the wake of Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) death. Per Deadline, in the upcoming fifth season, “Evelyn aims to forge her own identity as the masked archer known as Artemis.” The Arrow  TV series cast includes: Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne, and Emily Bett Rickards.

Fans of the Chicago PD  TV show on NBC will remember Louisiana-born McLaughlin as Michelle Sovana from the second and third seasons of the crime drama. She has also appeared in episodes of Finding Carter (2015), Girl Meets World (2015), Mad Men (2015), Major Crimes (2013), Teen Wolf (2013), Supernatural (2012 and 2013), NCIS (2012), and The Mentalist (2011).

In addition to Roots and The Walking Dead, Coleman’s other recent TV series work includes playing Colonel Frederick Lucius Johnson on The Expanse  TV show on Syfy. His impressive list of TV credits also includes playing Dennis “Cutty” Wise,” in 26 episode of The Wire, between 2004 and 2008. His first professional TV credit is for a 1992 episode of Here and Now, starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Charles Brown, S. Epatha Merkerson, Daryl Mitchell, and Rachael Crawford. The show was cancelled after 13 episodes on NBC.
