TV show description:
Former contestants of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette return to battle for a chance at love and a quarter of a million dollars. Along the way, they form alliances, friendships, romances, and feuds.

A group of male and female contestants come together under one roof, the Bachelor Pad mansion, where they live together for the duration of the show. Each week, they square off in head-to-head challenges to compete for immunity and the opportunity to go on a special date with the contestants of their choice. During the outing, the challenge winner grants immunity to one of his/her companions and they continue the date. The others go back to the mansion.

At the end of the episode, all of the housemates vote amongst themselves to determine who should be eliminated from the competition. The person(s) with the most votes leaves the mansion. The person left standing by the end of the season takes home the prize money and, perhaps, a new relationship.

The TV show is hosted by Chris Harrison (The Bachelor and The Bachelorette) and former Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars contestant Melissa Rycroft.

Series Finale:
Episode #20
The finale takes place in front of a revved up studio audience that welcomes back all the previously dismissed Pad Pals. They are treated to a video package detailing the highlights and lowlights of the season. We then learn that Kalon and Lindzi are still going strong. Of course, Erica believes anyone dating the K-man should be careful.

Michael takes center stage for a little QA session with Chris. His relationship with Rachel is the primary topic of discussion, as well as his dramatic exit at the hands of Erica. Michael says that Rachel was falling in love with him, but the feeling wasn’t mutual. Jaclyn feels he was a big phony with Rachel. Speaking of Jaclyn, she’s on the hot seat next.

Jaclyn talks about her relationship with Ed and how she was betrayed by BFF Rachel. Then Blakeley heads up to the stage. The chat delves into how both she and Jaclyn feel Jamie is a fake. Blakeley didn’t win the money, but she did strike up a nice, new relationship with Tony. She gets choked up talking about how he makes her feel. Tony feels like he entered the friend zone with Blakeley even though he had a crush on her. But the guy was persistent and it paid off.

Tony lets the other Pad Pals know that he and Blakeley are moving in together. Tony says he’s madly in love with Blakeley. That’s why he gets down on one knee and pulls out a whopper of an engagement ring. Tony asks Blakeley to marry him. Her answer: Absolutely.

It’s time for the four finalists to take the stage. Rachel is the first to speak up about how she felt Michael was really into her. She’s confused about why he got so cold towards her when he got off the show. Michael says he wasn’t ready for a long term, long distance relationship. Rachel was later crushed to learn Michael was in a long distance relationship with someone in Chicago.

Chris admits it’s tough to watch all that went down this season on TV. He says the game got a hold of him to the point where he admits that his family was disappointed with the way he acted. As far as the game, Chris tries his best to apologize to Jamie, but he can’t regret what he can’t change. If the Pad Pals don’t want to vote for him, they should still vote for Sarah. When all the votes are in, Nick and Rachel are going to the finals.

The final two players are separated where they must decide if they want to share the money or not. If they both choose share, they’ll spilt the winnings. If one chooses to “share” and the other opts “keep,” the keeper keeps it all. If both choose “keep,” neither gets the cash and the loot is split between the other Pad Pals.

The two finalists return to the stage where Rachel reveals that she opted to share the money. As for Nick, he believes that Rachel never wanted to be his partner. That’s why he decides to keep all the money for himself. Rachel is shocked, stunned and very, very angry. She thinks Nick is a schmuck. He says he’s a schmuck with $250,000.

For the first time in pad history, there’s a solo winner — Nick. Rachel follows Nick backstage. She wants an explanation for why he did this to her. He says he played the game brilliantly before heading out the door. Rachel is left alone crying in the darkness.
First aired: September 10, 2012
