Banshee will end its run on Cinemax with season four. Fans of the series are getting their first look at the season ahead now. The first trailer for Banshee season four was released on Thursday at New York Comic Con, according to TV Insider.
In addition to the trailer, fans now know when the eight episode fourth season will premiere on the cable network. Episodes will return on January 29, 2016. The premiere is titled “Something out of the Bible.”
Fans were shocked to learn that Banshee would come to an end after the upcoming season. The decision to end the series was not because of ratings. It was more of a case of the story coming to an end.
Jonathan Tropper, co-creator and executive producer, spoke with TV Line back in July about the decision to end the series.
“Banshee has been an incredible ride, and we continue to break new ground in season four. While we certainly considered returning for a fifth season, I always said that when the story was told, it would be time to move on, and that time has come. I am grateful to Cinemax for making Banshee the great success it has been and for supporting our creative decision to wrap things up.”
