The cable show has renewed it just two days after the premiere of season two on Tuesday. The first episode of season two was the highest-rated original episode on cable of the night, attracting a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic (beating Forever on ABC) with 2.37 million viewers.
The show follows the life of news anchor Mary Jane Paul (Gabrielle Union) as she tries to juggle her professional and personal life. Others in the cast are Richard Roundtree, Margaret Avery, Richard Brooks, Lisa Vidal, B.J. Britt, Aaron Spears, Latarsha Rose and Stephen Bishop.
Being Mary Jane is created and executive produced by Mara Brock Akil (The Game) and executive produced and directed by Salim Akil.
