Bet on Your Baby: Season Two Renewal for ABC Game Show

Bet on Your Baby ratingsABC has renewed their Saturday night game show Bet on Your Baby for a second season of eight episodes. Hosted by Melissa Peterman, the series drew very low ratings last year but was heavily sponsored by Walmart. It’s unclear if Walmart is involved this time around.

Melissa Peterman, Star of ABC Family’s Hit Series “Baby Daddy,” Hosts New Episodes

New York, NY– (January 28, 2014) — Multimedia entertainment studio Electus, an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI) and 5×5 Media, today announced that “Bet on Your Baby” has been renewed by ABC for a second season. The game show, hosted by Melissa Peterman (star of ABC Family’s hit show “Baby Daddy”), challenges parents to try to predict their child’s next move in an effort to win money for their child’s future education. ABC has ordered eight episodes for the new season.

“We are thrilled that ABC has decided to renew “Bet on Your Baby” for a second season,” said Electus CEO Chris Grant. “This show has continued to build momentum both in the U.S. and around the world, proof that Electus is achieving its mission to create engaging television.”

During its first season, “Bet on Your Baby” found success as part of the network’s spring weekend lineup. In its third season, Melissa Peterson’s “Baby Daddy” still stands as ABC Family’s #1 comedy of all time, and is currently airing all new episodes Wednesday nights at 8:30pm ET/PT on ABC Family.

“Bet On Your Baby” was created by 5×5 Media’s Craig Armstrong, Rick Ringbakk, Charles Wachter and Electus’ Ben Silverman and Jimmy Fox. The series is executive produced by Electus (Ben Silverman, Chris Grant, Jimmy Fox) and 5×5 Media (Craig Armstrong and Rick Ringbakk). Electus International, the global distribution arm of Electus, will distribute the series internationally.

Electus International, the global distribution arm of Electus, has sold finished tape of the show to seven territories including: Australia (Network Ten), Hong Kong (TVB), Korea (CJ), Latin America (Discovery), Poland (Discovery), Phillipines (ABS-CBN) and Singapore (MediaCorp). It has also sold the show’s format in key countries such as Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands and the Ukraine, and a dozen other territories.
