Before season one of Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul aired, AMC renewed the drama for a second season of 13 episodes. Now, before the second season premieres on February 15, 2016, AMC has quietly reduced the episode order from 13 to 10. While that does not mean the show will be cancelled, it does not feel like vote of confidence.
Better Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill, in the days before he became Walter White’s attorney, Saul Goodman. AMC’s non-announcement of the decreased Better Call Saul episode order was slipped into an AMC website post linking to Better Call Saul season two “First Look” photos (see one at the top of this page):
Today, AMC released two first-look photos from the Albuquerque, New Mexico set of Better Call Saul, where production on Season 2 began earlier this month. The photos feature series star Bob Odenkirk (Jimmy McGill) and Creators and Executive Producers Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould.
Season 1 of Better Call Saul was recently recognized with seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Bob Odenkirk), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Jonathan Banks) and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. The series also stars Michael McKean as Chuck McGill, Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin, and Michael Mando as Nacho Varga.
