How is FX dealing with the absence of Louis CK? This week, network boss John Landgraf discussed the future of both Better Things and Louis in the aftermath of CK’s recent sexual misconduct scandal, Deadline reports.
As reported earlier, FX cut ties with CK after several women came forward accusing the comedian of sexual misconduct. CK later confirmed the allegations were true.
At this week’s TCA press conference, Landgraf revealed there no issues of sexual misconduct from CK during his time at FX:
We didn’t find any issues or complaints of any kind during the eight years we worked together.”
That begin said, CK will no longer be involved with Better Things, the series he co-wrote with star Pamela Adlon:
This is Pamela’s show. These are her stories, her life. Louis was her co-writer, and she’s going to have to write [the episodes] all herself or find another co-writer. She’s the font, the creative engine of that show. He won’t be involved further in any FX shows including Better Things. I have every confidence in Pamela.”
And as for Louie? Landgraf isn’t sure if the comedy will be returned to FX’s digital streaming service:
I don’t know. There’s bigger and more important [issues] than the question of that. This is a cultural movement. … I don’t know what’s up with Louis. We’re in a wait-and-see mode.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Better Things? Do you think FX should give CK a second chance?
