Beyond: Freeform Drama Series Casts Eden Brolin

Eden Brolin has been cast to recur as Charlie on the upcoming Beyond TV show, on Freeform. Her character is described as a cool, confident young woman, with a tough exterior. She never backs down from a fight. Brolin joins the Beyond cast, including stars Burkley Duffield, Romy Rosemont, Michael McGrady, Jonathan Whitesell, Dilan Gwyn, and Jeff Pierre.

Charlie meets Holden (Burkely Duffield) when he is trying to figure out what happened during the dozen years he was in a coma. Brolin’s character appears halfway through the first season. Beyond marks Brolin’s first TV series role. The supernatural drama is set to premiere on Freeform in early 2017.

Brolin starred in the independent feature I Dream Too Much, executive produced by Richard Linklater, premiering June 21. She also stars in Colin Broderick’s film, Emerald City, which is currently in post-production. Her other film work includes Ruby Sparks, The Dark Rite, and I Dream too Much.

Brolin played Susan Atkins in Lifetime‘s TV movie Manson’s Lost Girls (as pictured above; left). Within the Manson family, Atkins was known as “Sadie Mae Glutz.” When The Beatles released their album, The Beatles (a.k.a. “The White Album”), Charles Manson connected her to the song, “Sexy Sadie.”

“Beyond” is a one hour drama about Holden, a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now Holden must try and figure out what happened to him during those 12 years; how to survive a world that changed while he was gone; and answer the question, why did this happen to him?

 

From Imperative Entertainment and Automatik, Beyond is created, written and executive produced by Adam Nussdorf (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland). Tim Kring (Heroes), David Eick, Steven Adelson, Zak Kadison, Justin Levy, and Brian Kavanaugh Jones also executive produce.
