Black-ish will be back in black(ish). This week, ABC announced they’ve renewed the TV series for a fourth season.
The sitcom revolves around an African-American family who are living the American dream — but that may be too much of a good thing for the family’s dad. The cast includes Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, and Laurence Fishburne.
A renewal for Black-ish is not that surprising. Recently, we reported the show was picked up for syndication on BET and FX networks, which adds significantly to the show’s profits. Additionally, the comedy has always been a consistent performer for ABC in the ratings.
Season three of Black-ish is currently averaging a 1.57 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.301 million viewers, making it one of ABC’s top-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.
What do you think? Do you watch Black-ish? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
