On Black-ish, patriarch Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson) begins to wonder if his success has caused him and his family to lose touch with their roots. The rest of the family is played by Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, and Laurence Fishburne.
Debuting last September, Black-ish debuted well with a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.85 million viewers. The numbers have come down since then but it’s still doing well.
The first season is currently averaging a 2.33 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.18 million viewers. It’s the fifth-highest rated scripted series on the network and the second-highest rated sitcom (Modern Family is first).
