Is Bodyguard coming back? Deadline reports creator Jed Mercurio is interested in a second season for the BBC TV show.
The political drama, which airs on Netflix in the U.S., centers on an Afghanistan war veteran Sergeant David Budd (Richard Madden) who is assigned to protect Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes). The cast also includes Gina McKee, Sophie Rundle, Paul Ready, Vincent Franklin, Stuart Bowman, and Nina Toussaint-White.
During a recent conference, Bodyguard creator Jed Mercurio said he’s hopeful there will be a second season of the hit BBC drama:
It would be great if there was a second season. We’d love to do more. We appreciate there’s a real hunger from fans to watch it. There are a lot of logistics in terms of setting up a second season and we’re just working through those.”
