Bones: Not on FOX’s Early 2016 Schedule

FOX has released its schedule for the new year, and Bones is not on it. If and when the second half of Bones season 11 will air is to be determined. While this doesn’t mean the long-running procedural has been cancelled, it hardly seems like a good sign. Despite flagging season 10 ratings, FOX renewed the series for an 11th season.

As of November 5, 2015, the eleventh season finds Bones, over all, down in the ratings. To date, it is averaging a 1.23 in the 18-49 demographic, with a season-to-date average of 5.34 total audience members.

While star David Boreanaz is looking forward to the end of the show with season 11, new showrunner, Michael Peterson, is on record as saying he wants a 12th season and more. The cast of Bones includes: Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel, Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor, TJ Thyne,  and John Boyd.

While FOX hasn’t scheduled the second half of Bones season 11, fans can take heart. The network has not forgotten the series, entirely. It does get a one line mention:

The return dates for BONES and THE LAST MAN ON EARTH to be announced.
