What do think happened to Jesse after the end of Breaking Bad? Recently, creator Vince Gilligan answered questions about the AMC TV series on Reddit.
Aaron Paul played Jesse Pinkman on the drama, which ended in 2013 after five seasons. The cast also included Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Steven Michael Quezada, Bob Odenkirk, Charles Baker, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jonathan Banks.
During a recent Reddit AMA, Gilligan revealed he thinks Jesse ultimately found happiness after the emotional ending to Breaking Bad:
I really believe so. In my mind, yes. Don’t take that as gospel, just take that as what I personally want to believe.
It really is up to the individual viewer, however. There is no definitive answer, and it was left that way on purpose so that you guys could come up with the ending for Jesse that you saw fit. And for me, that ending was…ultimately…peace.”
And when asked if Walter White really died, Gilligan responded:
Sure looked that way to me!”
Season three of Gilligan’s Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul, premieres on AMC on April 10th.
