The mystery continues. In a recent interview on Good Morning Britain, Broadchurch‘s David Tennant said season three is in development, but he has “absolutely no idea” what the season will be about.
Created by Chris Chibnall in 2013, Broadchurch focuses on a small, coastal English town in the aftermath of a child’s mysterious death. Tennant and co-star Olivia Colman play the detectives assigned to the case.
Series two of Broadchurch finished airing on British network ITV on February 23, the same day the network commissioned a third season of the crime series. Tennant also starred in FOX’s American remake of the series, Gracepoint, in 2014.
In the interview, Tennant revealed, “There are scripts, I am told. There are two scripts, I think.” However, anything else about Broadchurch‘s third season remains a mystery. “But I have no clue what is in them. I don’t suppose I’ll know until next year sometime.”
The third season will begin filming in summer 2016. No news on when it will premiere yet.
