Bunheads: Gilmore Girls Boss Game for Revival

Tie your hair up and pull up your tights. Gilmore Girls creator and revivalist, Amy Sherman-Palladino is more than ready and willing to make a Bunheads TV series revival. A comedy-drama, Bunheads was cancelled by ABC Family (now Freeform), in 2013, after one season.

Starring Sutton Foster, the Bunheads TV show features a Las Vegas showgirl who marries in haste and ends up teaching dance with her new mother-in-law. The cast of Bunheads also includes: Kelly Bishop, Kaitlyn Jenkins, Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain, and Emma Dumont.

Despite the fact that Sherman-Palladino knows Bunheads didn’t have time to attract a large fanbase, the creator/EP  tells EW she would do a revival series on Netflix (or probably anywhere) in a heartbeat.  In the interview, Sherman-Palladino says,“Look, in a heartbeat if they wanted to do something like that,” she adds. “Just to sit in a room with Sutton Foster, I’d do in a second.”

Michelle Simms once had a promising career as a classically-trained professional dancer but was drawn to the lights of Las Vegas. Now, with a dead-end job as a 30-something showgirl, she’s found the excitement of Sin City has lost its appeal, and her persistent suitor, Hubbell Flowers, is gaining it. With promises of a cushy life in his coastal town of Paradise, CA, Hubbell convinces Michelle to marry him and move away. Unfortunately, tragedy soon strikes. And as Michelle deals with adjusting to her new life, she meets quite a few interesting characters along the way.

The series stars Sutton Foster as Michelle, Kaitlyn Jenkins as Boo, Julia Goldani Telles as Sasha, Bailey Buntain as Ginny, Emma Dumont as Melanie, and guest stars Kelly Bishop as Fanny.
