FXX has cancelled Cassius and Clay, before the first season was even set to premiere. FXX ordered 10 episodes of the animated comedy, in August 2015, to pair with the seventh season of Archer. Per The Hollywood Reporter (THR), “Archer creator Adam Reed and Modern Family‘s Megan Ganz produced only the pilot….”
The voice cast of Cassius and Clay stars Kaitlin Olson as Cassius and Lake Bell as Clay. The title characters are female bandits in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic American South. Other voice cast includes: Susan Sarandon, Jeffrey Tambor, JB Smoove, Kevin Michael Richardson, Stephen Root, Katy Mixon, and Robert Patrick.
THR says, “…the move comes after [FX/FXX] picked up an animated pilot from Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks and has been readying animated comedy Bigfoot from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.”
