Tragedy is coming to Chicago Med. TVGuide reports a major character won’t be back for season three of the NBC TV series.
The medical drama takes place in one of Chicago’s new state-of-the-art trauma centers. The cast includes Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell, Brian Tee, Torrey DeVitto, Rachel DiPillo, and Marlyne Barrett.
While TVGuide does not specify which character will go, the article does heavily suggest the character in question will die in some kind of tragic accident. Earlier, the Chicago Tribune reported a car crash scene was filmed for season two of the TV series. However, no other details were given.
NBC has still not announced whether there will be a third season of Chicago Med, but it is likely given season two’s ratings. So far, the season is averaging an 18-49 demo rating of 1.34 and around 6.873 million viewers.
