Insightful and brilliant, Chief of Psychiatry Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), could use a dose of his own medicine, when it comes to managing his personal life. Accomplished and demanding, yet humane, Chief Administrator of Clinical Operations, Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), ensures her staff has what it needs to provide their patients excellent care.
In the third trimester of her pregnancy at the series premiere, ER pediatric medicine specialist, Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto), devotes herself to her young patients.
