The Trial of Louise Woodward has added to its cast. According to Deadline, Chloë Sevigny will appear in the limited series alongside Catriona Chandler, Joanne Froggatt, Meghann Fahy, and Sagar Radia.

The series is a dramatization of a 1997 event where an “18-year-old British au pair (Chandler) was accused of shaking to death a baby left in her care by her American host family, setting off an international media firestorm as the trial unfolds in full view of both the British and American public.”

The following was revealed about Sevigny’s role:

“Sevigny is set to play Louise’s defense attorney, Elaine Whitfield Sharp. Froggatt plays Louise’s mother, Susan, with Fahy and Radia as Deborah and Sunil Eappen — parents of the victim, Matthew Eappen.”

The premiere date for the HBO series will be announced later.
