Judith Scheindlin is putting down her gavel. Better known as Judge Judy to television viewers, the long-time television fixture has announced her retirement from the small screen.

This means her current Prime Video series, Judy Justice, will end its run next month. The final show will air on October 22nd. Scheindlin revealed the news during a visit to Good Morning America, alongside her son.

According to Deadline, she said the following:

“I’m retiring from in front of the camera. First of all, [my son] was ready. And, you know. I’ve aged pretty well over the years, reasonably – I look better than my grandmother did at my age, which didn’t take a lot – but it’s time for me to…take the message and put it in a little bit of a different form.”

A special celebrating Scheindlin’s career, Judge Judy: Unfiltered, Unforgettable, was scheduled earlier this month. The special will air on CBS on September 22nd.
