What’s This TV Show About?
A Netflix occult drama based on the Archie Comics’ character, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Michelle Gomez, Gavin Leatherwood, Richard Coyle, Lachlan Watson, Bronson Pinchot, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, and Abigail Cowen. The updated, supernatural series centers on Sabrina Spellman (Shipka), a sophomore at Baxter High in Greendale (a town near Riverdale), who is half-mortal and half-witch. Although the Church of the Night wants to claim her for itself, Sabrina has her own plans. She resolves to make her own way in the world while protecting her family, friends, and Greendale from the forces of evil.
Netflix has renewed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for a second season (parts three and four) which will debut January 24, 2020. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is usually difficult to predict whether Netflix will cancel or renew a show like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for season two. Netflix greenlit 20 episodes as part of the show’s original first season order but opted to air them as “Part 1” and “Part 2”. In December 2018, the streaming service renewed the series for a second season and will air them as “Part 3” and “Part 4.” Because even renewals can be cancelled, I’ll keep an eye on the trades and press releases and update this page with breaking developments.
