Damages: Series Finale Airs Tonight

series finale of DamagesFor those who have DirecTV, the last episode of Damages airs this evening. Everyone else will have to wait for the fifth season DVD set or find some other means to see it.

According to the Boston Herald’s Mark A. Perigard, Glenn Close’s performance in the series finale is Emmy-worthy, particularly in a confrontational scene with Patty’s father. She’s been nominated four times for the role and has won twice.

The 70-minute episode — titled “But You Don’t Do That Anymore” — was written by series creators Glenn Kessler, Todd Kessler and Daniel Zelman and was directed by Glenn Kessler. It wraps up the season-long mystery involving the murder of whistle-blower Naomi Walling (Jenna Elfman), as well as the court case against Channing McLaren (Ryan Phillippe), the founder of a WikiLeaks-like site called McClarenTruth.org.

It will also resolve the flash-forward that started the season in which we saw Patty’s former protege, Ellen (Rose Byrne), sprawled out in an alley, as if she’d been pushed off a rooftop. It seems that Ellen would do anything to take Patty down but did Patty beat her to the punch? Tune in tonight… or whenever.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Damages? Have you been watching on DirecTV, via DVD, or some other method? If you’ve seen it, were you satisfied by the last episode?
