From the big screen to the small screen. Variety reports the Divergent film franchise will wrap up with a TV movie and spin-off series.
Based on the book series by Veronica Roth, Divergent stars Shailene Woodley as Beatrice Prior, a young woman who lives in a dystopian society split into factions. The cast also includes Theo James, Ashley Judd, Ray Stevenson, and Ansel Elgort.
So far, the three movies in the franchise have been released theatrically. However, due to the subpar performance of the last installment (Allegiant), the studio has opted to released the fourth and final movie on TV. Lionsgate also has plans to develop a spin-off series.
Details have not yet been announced.
