What’s This TV Show About?

Airing on the ABC television network, Dr. Ken follows the snarky and overly blunt Korean-America doctor, Kendrick “Ken” Park. Actor and comedian Ken Jeong created the sitcom, based on his real-life experience as an M.D., prior to entering the world of standup comedy. Suzy Nakamura co-stars as his wife, Dr. Allison Park, a psychiatrist and the mother of their children, Dave (Albert Tsai) and Molly (Krista Marie Yu). The cast also includes Tisha Campbell-Martin, Jonathan Slavin, Kate Simses, Dave Foley, and Dana Lee.
 

Season Two Ratings

The second season of Dr. Ken is averaging a 0.88 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.41 million viewers. Compared to the season one, that’s down by 20% in the demo and down by 16% in terms of average total viewers. Learn how Dr. Ken stacks up against the other ABC TV shows.
 

 

Telly’s Take

Several Friday night sitcoms have come and gone over the past five years as the ABC executives tried to find a good companion comedy for Last Man Standing. It seemed like Dr. Ken was the solution but the numbers have taken a sizable dip this season. My suspicion is that they will cancel this series. Not what the doctor ordered, I’m afraid.
