It was a weak debut for NBC’s latest reality competition. Compared to the Fall 2011 premiere of Parenthood in the 10pm timeslot, NBC was down by 27% (vs 2.2) in the demo. Compared to the last original episode, the network was down by 16% (vs a 1.9). The debut numbers will put Fashion Star just above NBC’s disappointing Fall reality competition, The Sing Off, on our network report card.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
