Jessica Mecklenburg, writer and supervising producer on ABC‘s cancelled drama, Resurrection, is developing a new college sex scandal TV series, Fated at NBC. According to Deadline, the plot of Fated, “…revolves around two brothers at the top of their game — one the president of a Texas university and the other the revered football coach — and the sex scandal that threatens to unravel their family legacy.”
Mecklenburg, who has previously worked on BET‘s Being Mary Jane, starring Gabrielle Union, and cancelled TV series such as TNT‘s Saving Grace, starring Holly Hunter, and ABC‘s Brothers and Sisters, started out as a producer’s assistant on HBO‘s Carnivàle.
Deadline reports, “Mecklenburg is a co-executive producer on Netflix’s upcoming Stranger Things, the supernatural period drama series written and directed by Matt and Ross Duffer and executive produced by Shawn Levy.”
