Created by Tyler Perry, For Better or Worse is a sitcom that revolves around a lovesick married couple, their family, and friends. Marcus “MJ” Williams Jr. (Michael Jai White) is a football player–turned–sports commentator and Angela (Tasha Smith) is his edgy and outspoken wife. The rest of the cast includes Jason Olive, Crystle Stewart, Kent Faulcon, Brad James, Kiki Haynes, Cocoa Brown.
The fourth season of the comedy series finished airing on October 16th. The 22 episodes averaged a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 930,000 viewers. Compared to the 55 episodes in season three, that was down by about 10%.
OWN hasn’t announced a renewal but members of the cast have confirmed that they are filming new episodes.

In an interview with eurweb, White was asked about what fans can look for in the upcoming season. He said, “[Fans will] enjoy [seeing] my character evolve over time and with that evolution you see Marcus and Angela become mentors as opposed to mentees as when we started in Why Did I Get Married? where we were both sort of a mess. There will be different twists and turns and ongoing story lines, it is an exploration of how to live and love each other in these modern times.”
It’s worth noting that Wikipedia and other sources report that the previous season was season seven so these new episodes would be part of season eight.
OWN however maintains that last season was season four and refer to it that way in their press release from last year and in their video archives.
