The original version of American Idol ran for 15 years before being cancelled by FOX, and now it’s coming back — but to ABC instead. Meanwhile, NBC has The Voice, which continues to be a Nielsen ratings darling. Not one to suffer in silence, FOX has introduced The Four: Battle for Stardom TV show — yet another competitive reality TV series for singers. Does it have a large enough range to hit all the high notes, or will it fall flat? Will The Four: Battle for Stardom be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Solo artist and Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie hosts The Four: Battle for Stardom, in which singers face off in hopes of winning a promotional deal with iHeartRadio. During the FOX competition, the contestants are advised by industry pros Sean Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and Charlie Walk. In addition to the IHeartRadio promotion, the winner will also benefit by having Combs, Khaled, Trainor, and Walk join their team and guide them toward stardom.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/9 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Four: Battle for Stardom TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on FOX?
