The verdict is in. Bruce Greenwood, who plays LA District Attorney Gil Garcetti (as pictured above) on the FX drama, American Crime Story: The People Vs OJ Simpson, has been cast in the Four Stars TV series pilot at CBS. Greenwood played Dr. Emmett Cole on The River TV series, which was cancelled by ABC in 2012, after one season of eight hour-long episodes.

In Four Stars, Greenwood will play General Buckley, a four-star General in the United States Army. Buckley is the patriarch of one of the two military families featured in this drama pilot. He joins Wilmer Valderrama, Ashley Zukerman, and Ana Kayne, who were cast, previously.

CBS ordered the Four Stars TV show pilot in February. Writer Becky Mode is set to executive produce with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. Nashville‘s RJ Cutler will executive produce and direct.

Set in Tampa, FL, Four Stars follows two powerful families. These rivals make crucial national security decisions, at the highest levels.

The Hollywood Reporter describes Greenwood’s General Buckley as, “…a four-star general in charge of worldwide special operations for the U.S. military who is fiercely protective of his brood.”

Manhattan‘s Zukerman was previously cast in the Four Stars TV series pilot at CBS. He plays the son of Greenwood’s character — the rough-and-tumble “swaggering” Danny Buckley. That ’70s Show‘s veteran, Wilmer Valderrama, plays Matt Rodriguez, son of the other four-star General — a role which is yet to be cast.
