TV show description:
Jared Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Peter Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) are a pair of lawyers that you want to have on your side. With business cards in hand, they’re ready to nab a client within seconds of a car accident, an arrest for solicitation, or any other incident where their legal services may be needed. Once in the courtroom, they’ve got a certain flair and will do or say just about anything to get a win for their clients.
Peter has a knack for connecting with judge and jury, while Jared loves sticking it to authority every chance he gets. Peter holds nothing back in court, is a confident ladies man, and has a killer body that he’s not modest about showing off. Meanwhile, Jared is quick-witted, scrappy, and a master showman in the courtroom. His dad’s a well-known attorney but Jared prefers to make it on his own, liking to stand up for the little guy. He formerly dated Assistant District Attorney Janie Ross (Claire Coffee).
Despite their bad-boy antics, brash presentation and devil-may-care attitudes, their devotion to their clients catches the attention of Stanton Infeld (Malcolm McDowell). He’s a man of culture and philosophy who’s also a fierce competitor in court and the patriarch of Infeld Daniels, one of the top law firms in Los Angeles. He sees a lot of himself in the young men and decides to recruit the pair to bring a fresh energy to the firm. Jared and Peter are joined by their two legal aides; smart and tough paralegal Carmen Phillips (Dana Davis) and Pindar Singh (Kumail Nanjiani), a brilliant writer and researcher who’s socially awkward and has some serious anxiety issues.
Infeld’s decision to take on the fresh talent doesn’t sit well with his nephew, Damien Karp (Reed Diamond), a morally-challenged and ambitious lawyer who has his own plans for the firm. Jared and Peter’s arrival also threatens Karp’s romantic desires for Hanna Linden (Garcelle Beauvais), a beautiful and smart attorney who takes an immediate liking to Jared.
In their new offices at Infeld Daniels, Jared and Peter handle a variety of new and interesting clients but their incredible friendship remains a constant. Time will tell if the devoted buddies’ relationship can survive in this new environment.
Episode #40 — Red or Black
Infeld is convinced he’s going to die after a mysterious invitation beckons him to Las Vegas to confront his destiny. The boys and Dan Mundy follow him to the city of sin, and try to convince him that his death isn’t supposed to happen, and that the whole thing is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Soon they find their own futures hanging in the balance when they’re arrested for cheating a casino out of thousands. Franklin and Bash must put Vegas itself on trial in order to win the day, which they do. The win is bittersweet, as the whole ordeal has raised serious question about their destiny. It’s decided that the future of the legal team of Franklin and Bash will rest solely on one spin of the roulette wheel.
First aired: October 22, 2014.
