Fresh Off the Boat has some exciting new company. Deadline reports Ming-Na Wen (pictured), Reggie Lee, and Jimmy O. Yang have joined season five of the ABC TV show.
The comedy centers on an Asian-American family that relocates from Washington DC to Orlando, Florida to open a cowboy-themed restaurant. The cast includes Hudson Yang, Randall Park, Constance Wu, Forrest Wheeler, Ian Chen, Lucille Soong, Chesley Crisp, and Ray Wise.
On Fresh Off the Boat, Wen will be playing “Elaine, a Chinese-American woman with a smart sense of humor who’s everything Jessica (Wu) could dream of in a Chinese BFF.” Lee will recur as “Julius, a Chinese-American man who genuinely loves steak, apple pie, the Dallas Cowboys and other all-American things” while Yang will play Elaine and Julius’ son, Horace.
Season five premieres on ABC on October 5th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
