Is there still drama behind the scenes of Fresh Off the Boat? Recently, star Randall Park spoke with Variety about Constance Wu’s controversial reaction to the ABC TV show’s season six renewal.
The sitcom centers on Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang), his parents Louis and Jessica (Randall Park and Constance Wu), brothers Emery (Forrest Wheeler) and Evan (Ian Chen), and grandmother Jenny (Lucille Soong) who move from Washington DC to Orlando, FL to open a Western-themed restaurant.
Recently, Constance Wu sparked some controversy after reacting poorly to the news that ABC renewed Fresh Off the Boat for a sixth season. When asked about the reaction, Park revealed the cast was actually not expecting the renewal:
I was prepared for it to not get picked up, and I was excited by these others things I could do, but if it did get picked up it’s like, that’s all I ever wanted. All I ever wanted was a job and a regular job to work with great people.”
