Texas forever! Check out Connie Britton’s weekend Instagram posts. First she wished her Friday Night Lights co-star, Kyle Chandler, a happy birthday. After posting a picture of herself all dolled up for the the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, she then posted a photo of herself and Chandler, reuniting at the event. Friday Night Lights ended in 2011, after five seasons on NBC.
Peter Berg’s Texas High School football drama premiered almost 10 years ago, on Tuesday, October 6, 2006, starring Chandler and Britton as Eric and Tami Taylor. Friday Night Lights also starred Aimee Teegarden, Brad Leland, Taylor Kitsch, Jesse Plemons, Zach Gilford, Derek Phillips, Blue Deckert, Minka Kelly, Andrianne Palicki, Timothy F. Crowley, Louanne Stephens, Stacey Oristano, Scott Porter, Gaius Charles, Michael B. Jordan, Matt Lauria, Jurnee Smollett, Madison Burge, and Grey Damon.

Although Britton was not nominated in an individual category, she played Faye Resnick in the first season of American Crime Story: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson on FX, which won the Outstanding Limited Series category. Overall, that production wrapped up nine wins.
Chandler was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category, for playing John Rayburn, on the crime drama, Bloodline. The award went to Rami Malek for Mr. Robot. Last week, news broke that Bloodline will end, after its upcoming third season on Netflix, leaving the show cancelled.
There is no talk of CMT or another outlet rescuing Bloodline, the way it did with Britton’s Nashville, when that series was cancelled after four seasons on ABC. It is not clear if Sony will shop a fourth season of Bloodline to other networks.

When asked back in May if he thinks there will ever be a Friday Night Lights reboot with the original cast, Chandler said that would be tough to pull off, because everyone’s “a little too old now.”
It seems to us a reunion movie or mini-series would be quite feasible. Someone remind Coach about high school reunions and Homecoming games.
