Friends may not be returning to the small screen anytime soon, but the hit sitcom is headed to the stage. EW reports the NBC TV show is being adapted as an Off-Broadway parody musical.
Titled Friends! The Musical, the production comes from Bob and Tobly McSmith, who are also responsible for parody musicals based on Full House, Saved by the Bell, and Beverly Hills 90210.
Friends! The Musical is coming to The Triad Theatre in New York City this fall. Tickets go on sale in June.
From Tobly McSmith:
Oh and there will be a smelly cat, there will be Janice, and there will be Fat Monica. We want all the alumni of Friends to come to the show and possibly be in it for a night or two — our first call is to the agent of Marcel the Monkey.”
