The medieval musical is returning. Recently, ABC released new previews for the upcoming second season of their musical comedy mini-series Galavant.
Season two will premiere on January 3rd, at 8 p.m.
Created by Dan Fogelman, Galavant premiered as a four-episode musical comedy “extravaganza” in 2015. It starred Joshua Sasse as the eponymous hero who vowed to save his beloved (Mallory Jansen) from an evil king (Timothy Omundson). The series featured all-new songs from Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, who had previously worked with Fogelman on Disney’s Tangled.
The four-week event did fairly well in the ratings, and ABC renewed the mini-series for a second season in May.
The first season cast will return for the 10 episodes of season two, in addition to guest stars like Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville.
