Who is Jim Broadbent playing on Game of Thrones? Recently, the actor spoke with ScreenCrush about his role in season seven of the HBO TV series.
The epic fantasy drama stars Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Aidan Gillen, Kit Harington, Diana Rigg, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Jonathan Pryce, and Iain Glen. It was recently announced season seven will debut on HBO on July 16th.
In the interview, Broadbent revealed he plays “an old professor character”:
I’m a maester, an archmaester. I’m an old professor character. … I did five episodes. I did sort of one major scene in each episode.”
While Broadbent didn’t mention the name of his character, ScreenCrush theorizes he could be either Maester Marwyn or another maester who interacts with Sam Tarley (John Bradley).
