Game of Thrones is still airing season six on HBO, but the crew is already scouting new locations to use for seasons seven and eight, which are the final seasons of the drama.
Tomorow.Tech reported that those involved with the series are hunting out new locations in Spain to use, and they are considering the Canary Islands. The report said that there are negotiations happening now to use the location for the two final seasons of the HBO series.
The report revealed that:
“Game of Thrones is looking for warm places, and the team “left delighted with the potential of the Teide National Park,” on Tenerife. Teide National Park is home to Spain’s highest mountain, as well as a volcano and lava flows. Reportedly scouts also were set to view other areas including Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.”
The series would likely start product on season seven later this year. That will give the location scouts plenty of time to seal up any deals involving their desired locations.
