TV show description:
From executive producers Tracey Edmonds, Angela Burt-Murray, Vanessa Middleton, and Kim Newton, the Games People Play TV show is a drama based on Burt-Murray’s 2014 mystery novel, Games Divas Play.
The thriller centers on Vanessa King (London). Vanessa married her sweetheart, Marques (Jackson), when he was on the cusp of becoming a professional basketball player. Although Vanessa is a loyal wife, and their lives are now far more glamorous than in college, she has her doubts about him these days, but is determined to protect her family.
Marques had long readied himself for professional success and thought he had a good understanding of every aspect of the business side of the game. What he never expected was the women and the irresistible temptation they present. Thanks to his own weakness, his marriage has not gone unscathed.
A bright, knowledgable blogger, Nia Bullock (Obilom) has her mind set on a big career in journalism. Although she takes a job that she’s sure will catapult her toward her goal, she winds up drawn into a high-stakes game of celebrity gossip and scandal.
Struggling actress Laila James (Posey) has plateaued where her career is concerned, so rather than trying to hone her talent, she’s decided to peddle what sells — her sex appeal. As she works to burnish her social media image, she gets caught up in the fame game and finds it addictive.
Finally, there’s Kareem Johnson (Long) — best friend and assistant to Marques. In college, Kareem seemed poised for a shot at the pros and everything that Marques has, but it wasn’t to be. He has grown frustrated with spending his life on the sidelines and decides to take a big risk, in order to get everything he thinks he deserves.
In one way or another, all of these people will soon learn that trying to get and stay on top isn’t fun and games; it’s murder.
