How to Get Away with Murder: Season Five; ABC Series Creator Teases the Show’s Future

How to Get Away with Murder TV show on ABC: (canceled or renewed?)

What’s in store for How to Get Away with Murder? Recently, creator Peter Nowalk discussed the future of the ABC TV show, Deadline reports.

The crime drama centers on Middleton University Professor Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) and the murder, deception, fear and guilt that bind her to her students and associates. The cast also includes Billy Brown, Jack Falahee, Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, Conrad Ricamora, Karla Souza, Charlie Weber, and Liza Weil.

Although ABC has not announced a season five renewal for How to Get Away with Murder, Nowalk does have plans for next season:

I haven’t made any specific decisions. But what I do love for Annalise is she’s really doing well right now with her sobriety, and she shed a lot of her own self-hate. I think the Isaac therapy actually really helped her, and she’s in a good place.”

And, according to Nowalk, season five may explore Annalise’s late husband, Sam Keating (Tom Verica), more in depth:

I loved Tom Verica the actor, and I love when he comes back, so we actually have a really good flashback episode idea for next year. There’s so much of their marriage that we didn’t explore, and before they met each other, so that’s definitely a story goldmine for me.”

The season four finale of How to Get Away with Murder premieres tonight, March 15th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
