Gilmore Girls is coming back to the small screen, but it will not be on the CW – the network where it ended its run in 2007 after being cancelled. Amy Sherman Palladino series starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will air its revival on Netflix. Daniel Palladino will write and direct the entire revival.
TV Line reported on the format for the revival on Monday, and it is definitely out of the norm for the original programming on the streaming service. Fans will see four 90-minute long episodes. One episode for each season of the year. The series will be set in present day.
At the moment, talks are on-going with the original cast for their return, but no contracts have been signed yet. It is likely the cast will return. Lauren Graham posted about the revival on her Twitter when the news started generating buzz last week.
DUDES. I can’t confirm this. But I also can’t deny this… https://t.co/KO8gA7j6Us
