Sorry, Girl Meets World fans. According to The Wrap, Netflix is not interested in picking up the cancelled Disney Channel TV series for a fourth season.
Earlier this month, we reported Disney has cancelled the Boy Meets World spin-off after three seasons. The sitcom stars Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Meyer, and August Maturo.
Though no reason was given, Netflix will reportedly not pick up the show for another season despite many efforts, on the part of fans and the creators, to save the show on another network. It’s still uncertain whether or not another platform, like Hulu, will pick up the series. Creator Michael Jacobs has said there is interest and he thinks there are still more stories to tell with Girl Meets World:
“We are certainly having discussions, there are some interested platforms. I don’t think ‘Girl should have been canceled. We signed to do four seasons. I thought we would be able to tell stories through four seasons. That’s the way we set it up. It was going to be a remarkable final year. But I understand, things end.”
The series finale of Girl Meets World premieres on Disney Channel tomorrow, January 20th.
