Starz is sticking with The Girlfriend Experience. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has renewed the series for a second season.
The drama stars Riley Keough as Christine Reade, a law student who becomes an escort. The cast includes Paul Sparks, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kate Lyn Sheil, and Amy Seimetz.
Though the first season earned pretty low ratings, receiving an average of .06 in the 18-49 demo and 230,000 viewers, it was praised by several critics for Keough’s lead performance and the artistic direction.
Starz has ordered 14 episodes for season two, which will follow a new plot.
