Glee: Ending with Season Six Says Murphy

Glee endingThe co-creator of Glee, Ryan Murphy, has confirmed that season six will be the end of the musical dramedy series.

At a Paley Center event last night, Murphy also noted that Cory Monteith’s untimetly death has forced him to rethink how he’ll end the show.

He said, “The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story… I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was — he was in it. I knew what the last line was — she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.”

Murphy added, “I have a good idea. I’m going to tell the studio and the network [in a week] how after Cory’s unfortunate passing we can end the show that I think is very satisfactory. And kind of in his honor, which I love.”

In last week’s tribute episode, Rachel (Lea Michele) layed out how she saw her future with Finn. She makes it on Broadway and then returns to McKinley High where Finn is a teacher and tells him that she is home.

It sounds like that may have been the original ending to Glee.

What do you think? Do you think Glee should end next season? How would you end the show?
