There are two fewer vacancies tonight, at Miami’s Grand Hotel. Katy Sagal and Freddie Stroma have been cast in recurring roles in the ABC Studios production. The primetime soap opera comes from writer Brian Tanen, who executive produces with Eva Longoria, Ben Spector, Ramón Campos, and Teresa Fernández-Valdés.
An ABC drama, Grand Hotel stars Demián Bichir as Santiago Mendoza, Roselyn Sanchez as Gigi Mendoza, Denyse Tontz as Alicia Mendoza, Bryan Craig as Javi Mendoza, Wendy Raquel Robinson as Mrs. P, Lincoln Younes as Danny, Shalim Ortiz as Mateo, Anne Winters as Ingrid, Chris Warren as Jason, Feliz Ramirez as Carolina, and Justina Adorno as Yoli. The drama unfolds at the last family-owned hotel in diverse Miami Beach. The charming Santiago Mendoza owns the hotel, while trophy wife Gigi (Roselyn Sanchez) and their adult children enjoy a life of excess.
Sagal will play Teresa, an investor in the hotel with mysterious intentions. She clashes with Santiago (Demian Bichir) and will stop at nothing to protect her investment. Sagal will appear in at least three episodes.
Stroma will portray Oliver, the associate manager of the Finn Hotel in Miami. Oliver is an old friend of Alicia’s from business school who now finds himself in competition for her business and maybe even her heart.
ABC has yet to announced the Grand Hotel TV series premiere date. When we know, you will too.
